VINTAGE? Southwest NAVAJO Pearls INDIAN Mountain ROYSTON Turquoise Necklace

  

Extremely Amazing Southwestern Navajo necklace. I'll never have the perfect description as what beholds in person the raw power & elegance of this necklace. Let's just get to the heart of this necklace and talk about the turquoise.

Polished & natural, these "nuggets" are phenomenal. Very old and collectable, 6 of the stones (on both sides) are INDIAN MOUNTAIN. The two stones at bottom and the larger are ROYSTON. The Indian Mountain turquoise' are well matched more in consistency of colors & patterns with each stone varying in shape and dimensions. Rich dark green-blues just pack a powerful punch! The two nuggets at top are more Blue-green and outstanding! The smokey brown & black matrix offsets the beautiful rich hues.

The two ROYSTON nuggets are just as mesmerizing. Lovely green-blue hues with chocolate brown matrix and golden brown tidal waves of chert... Now the brilliance of the sterling NAVAJO Pearls... Balancing out the turquoise nuggets. Just fantastic sizing and stamp work to compliment the turquoise.

Most are smooth & gleaming as if made yesterday. The stamped larger beads come in 2 sizes, 5 are larger domed and 4 slimmer frame the the top turquoise on both sides. The smooth beads are graduated with smaller at top near closure & gradually getting larger toward turquoise.

I was unsure about polishing the sterling beads. They were completely dark brown. So recently I asked my sister her thoughts. Then I asked my mom.

The day I asked her, she was visiting my home. She didn't give me an answer.

She suggested wearing it unpolished to my local grocery store, (my sister went along too). When she got back, both her and my sister were laughing at the compliments! My mom said 4 people actually conversed with her & commented, in likeness of the beauty and size of necklace.

She said 2 were men! She went on to state that many stared....

She felt popular & hadn't had so many stares in years!!!! She said she felt "rich"! I decided that this is too precious to stay with dark patina and the glossy glam would increase the outstanding nature and character of art. Beads test as Sterling, measures 21 length. 2 Indian Mountain turquoise nuggets have a partial drill near the current drilled opening, see last picture? No major issues to sterling beads, normal scratches & imperfections, partially hand made beads! Freeform nuggets are polished with a few crevices not polished, due to hard to reach.
